Santa Fe resident Alex Jacobs is a Native American visual and performing artist, and a graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe (1977). In 2006, Alex won a Best in Classification at Indian Market for Best in Painting/Graphic/Drawing/Photography for his mixed media fabric collage work. He has exhibited his work in San Francisco, New Mexico, New York, Scottsdale, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Canada and Germany. His fabric collage work is his own technique combining elements from Santa Fe with the quilt-making traditions of his mother and grandmother.
