Steve attended the University of New Mexico studying painting and photography, however he prides himself in being self taught.
"There is a true mystery in beauty; whether it is embodied in the figure, landscapes, architecture, plant, or wildlife. This mystery of beauty is for me always elusive, always ambiguous, and always tantalizing. As an artist I try to paint that mystery, to provide a way into that beauty for my viewers. When this connection is made, it is then that I feel my work as an artist is complete."
