Ronald P. Chávez was born in the valley of Puerto de Luna on the banks of the Pecos River in New Mexico. In Santa Rosa, New Mexico he was the owner of the famous Route 66 Club Cafe. During that time, Chávez and his Route 66 Cafe enjoyed fame, where he spun stories about how he shined shoes in front of the Club Cafe as a little boy, and about the people he came in contact with over the years.
