As Pablo Picasso once said, "It takes a long time to become young." For me, it took decades - following a 30 year publishing career -- to discover my "inner child" through painting. Not coincidentally, I returned to painting after moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico, a setting that has inspired many of my favorite artists -- artists like John Marin, Richard Diebenkorn, Raymond Jonson, William Lumpkins, all of whom worked in New Mexico at one time. Their work has inspired me as have the light and landscape of New Mexico. Following a Modernist tradition, I work in a variety of mediums. I love the transparency of watercolors, the velvety texture of pastels, and the buttery consistency of oils. My work appears in many private collections and I am represented by Alexandra Stevens gallery on Canyon Road in Santa Fe.
