After attending the Parson’s School of Design in New York, Teena Robinson’s artistic and graphic design skills flourished while owning a graphic design business for over twenty-five years. Her constant interest in art led her to attend watercolor workshops and painting classes in 1999. They reawakened her artistic drive to create unique interpretations of people, places and things. She strives to interpret the world around her and create a feeling, rather than a realistic representation of her subject matter.
Her recent move to Santa Fe opened a new exciting world of inspiration. She enjoys the adventure of life and creating. Every day something is added that affects her mood, psyche, and state of mind. Presently, she is using encaustics as her main medium. She enjoys the sculptural quality and the way light and luminosity is achieved working with hot wax. The versatility of this medium gives Teena the freedom to play and work abstractly and to express the mood of her subjects.
