Shirley Lynn moved from England to the U.S. in January 1987, to paint the northern New Mexico landscape. She graduated from the Harrow School of Art in London in 1978 with a degree in illustration. She worked in London from 1978 to 1986 and now lives in Santa Fe with her daughter, Sienna; painting at her studio, illustrating for books and magazines, and faux-finishing or painting murals.
