Joanne Hunter is of the Navajo tribe from Canyon de Chelly, in the Chinle area. She lives inside the canyon on the rim on the north side. She started making beadwork in 1988, selling to tours who visited the Canyon at Antelope House Ruin. She began demonstrating beadwork in 2001 and now partcipates in a few shows outside the Navajo Reservation.
