Nika Snodgrass was born in Berlin, a descendant of several generations of German sculptors. In the mid-1960's Nika began her travels in Latin America, living there for 13 years. She participated in the founding of the Museum Ixchel, the Guatemalan museum for indigenous textiles in Guatemala City.
