Bruce Moffitt has loved precious metals and precious and semi-precious gemstones since he was a boy. This love of the products from mother earth led him to the study of Geology at the University of New Mexico. With his degree he set out to work as an exploration geologist in Mexico, Australia and Papua New Guinea. He has collected stones and silversmithing techniques for the past 40 years. His interest in silversmithing was born while watching a Navajo silversmith set a claw from a bear killed in the Jemez Mountains. Moffitt's jewelry reflects his admiration of stones and for many pieces, does his own stone cutting. This gives his jewelry unique eye appeal for those who prefer something different. His pieces are heavy to the touch, the weight of the silver becoming an integral part of the design.
