As Paula Snyder says in her statement: "Living in New Mexico an artist cannot help being influenced by the unique combination of vast horizons, history, and culture - this is a land where visual stimulation grows in extreme proportions. I have come to understand why artists like Georgia O’Keeffe and R.C. Gorman called New Mexico home and incorporated the rich colors and themes of this land in their work. Drenched in this combination of visual stimulation, my surroundings become my muse. I use a multitude of materials, adding layer upon layer, adding mystery and a sense of wonder to my pieces. My work ranges from mixed media, assemblage and abstract to pieces depicting women, animals and religious themes, from insightful to whimsical.
A self taught artist, I came to art later in life. Answering the call to creativity lead me to painting, assemblage and many other art forms. An artistic explorer, I’m always looking for some new form of creative expression."
