With this new series I start by studying and interpreting a print or a painting, always with a bit of poetry floating in my mind. This reproduction is placed in the background of the painting composition. The objects then selected for the foreground relate to the visual of the print in the background and the selected poetic verse. I then include something organic within the composition, like a seashell or an apple blossom. The interconnectedness is perhaps more obvious on one level, but I hope also displays a subtle meaning as well."
