Etta grew up in Crownpoint, New Mexico. She learned how to work with silver by assisting her mother after school. By the time she was eighteen, she had begun her career as a full-time silversmith. Her husband and sons work as a team to create elegant, contemporary and well-crafted designs. In 1998, Etta's work was featured in the Indian Craft Shop at the Department of the Interior, in Washington D.C. She was one of eight artists chosen from throughout the United States for this
